I remember when I first purchased the SV Fantastic Vol. 2, just on the pure face that Dilla was the producer. I had been following him since the Keith Murray remix joint. Anyway, I had this Awia CD Player and popped it in and blacked out! Everything was so strong, beats, vocals, artwork on packaging. I must have listened to that CD 8 to 9 times that day straight through. I called out sick from work just to enjoy what I was feeling. I knew that SV was special from that moment. And now I just watched the video and the ending scared me due to the alarm sound, but that beat is hard. A lot of dudes sleep on the D’s ability to put out that real unfiltered hip-hop. That Diamond D, Large Professor vibe mixed with that Ced Gee, Pete Rock drum pattern, topped off with that J Dilla, Lord Finesse/Showbiz sample quailty. I know this album will be classic just do to their taste. Keep it up.
